COUNTDOWN EVENTS Blog

This Week's #FF Mijune Pak of Follow Me Foodie

Name: Mijune Pak
Occupation(s): Food blogger of Follow Me Foodie
Who is your role model: Hmmm, I’m actually not sure. I have a lot of mentors and people I look up to, respect and seek advice from, but I don’t have one particular role model.
What do you like most about your job: I can eat it.
Daily ritual: Wake up from a nap, eat, blog and repeat! There’s no time to sleep though.
The most rewarding part of my job is: Food and meeting some of the most talented people that have changed the culinary industry. I also love constantly learning and exploring my passion.
What has been your biggest strength that’s helped you succeed in your industry? Having passion in what I do.
Memorable celebrity encounter/interview: Ha! Totally unrelated to food, but being invited to a private party with Paris Hilton and her entourage in Las Vegas. Very random, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… however related to food it would be meeting Jean-Georges.

Favourite quote: “Blood. It’s in you to give.” It’s not really, but it was the first to come to mind… hmm “There’s always room for dessert.” Not my favourite quote, but second to come to mind and I say it all the time.
Describe your personal style: Energetic, passionate, honest and a food geek at heart that likes fashion. I take what I do seriously, but I don’t take myself too seriously and I want to have fun doing whatever I’m doing.
Dream vacation spot? Bora Bora would be fun!
What is your favourite thing to take pictures of? This is too easy… food.
What has been your favourite event to attend? Well I haven’t been yet, but going to the Bocuse d’or in Lyon, France or even the Truffle Festival in Alba, Italy would be epic.
Favourite Restaurant: Way too hard.
What is your biggest indulgence? Dessert… or ethically raised foie gras.
If there was more time in the day you would: Sleep.
Favourite social network: Blog or Twitter.

Favourite Blog: Oh I can’t choose! There are so many!
Where do you go for good ideas? Random blogs, websites of restaurants I want to try, recipe books, and dining out at restaurants for inspiration.
Last song you downloaded: I don’t download music anymore so the last time was at least 3 years ago. It actually might have been something from Alicia Keys… but something really old.
What is the most challenging thing you have ever done? This. Food blogging and building Follow Me Foodie. It’s a challenge everyday, but one that’s exciting more so than frustrating. The more you love something the more heartache it gives you though.
What are you obsessed with right now? Science, particularly food science.

Any other comments/thoughts you’d like to add: (ie. new business features you are offering now) Yes! I’m going to start featuring more vlogs, recipes and fun culinary events this year. I might give the site a bit of a makeover too. I’m really excited, but my plans are still getting mapped out, so I don’t want to spill the beans until things are ironed out.
